Accountability Journalism in the face of misinformation (FACCTMEDIA)

The FACCTMedia project, funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation (PID2019-106367GB-I00/AEI/10.13039/501100011033), aims to examine how accountability instruments evolve and adapt to address the issue of misinformation. It seeks to identify mechanisms of accountability that have been recently created for this purpose. Tasks of the project include delving into innovative fact-checking methodologies, editorial criteria, and publishing strategies employed by media, academia, and independent information verification platforms at both the Spanish and international levels. This detailed knowledge will serve as a starting point to formulate a methodological and curricular proposal aimed at introducing news verification modules in Spanish universities.
